Charles M. Davis

• Charles M. Davis, Jr. is a Managing Partner of Claeris Development, LP responsible for strategic planning, corporate development, and capital formation. Mr. Davis brings more than 25 years of experience in corporate finance and strategic advisory roles, primarily in the energy industry.
• Mr. Davis has worked in the energy groups of some of the largest investment banks in the world, including The First Boston Corporation, Merrill Lynch, and UBS. Mr. Davis headed Merrill’s Dallas investment banking office and served on the firm’s worldwide equity commitment committee.
• During his investment banking career, Mr. Davis advised on over $70 billion of M&A transactions. He also advised on over $200 billion of debt and equity issuances, including both public and private placement of debt and equity as well as highly structured transactions.  Mr. Davis’ M&A and financial advisory roles have extended to all aspects of the energy value chain. Mr. Davis was selected to act as the independent financial advisor to the State of Alaska with respect to the $25 billion proposed natural gas pipeline from the North Slope of Alaska to Alberta Canada. In 2006, Mr. Davis was appointed SVP and Head of Corporate Development of Regency Energy Partners, a newly listed MLP. He remained in that capacity until the sale of the general partnership to an affiliate of General Electric in 2008. From 2008 until 2011, Mr. Davis served as VP and Head of Corporate Development for Atmos Energy Corp., the largest pure natural gas distribution company in U.S.
• Mr. Davis received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance, with highest honors, from the University of Texas at Austin in 1984. He received a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Business in 1988, where he was named a George F. Baker Scholar.
